Special Education Services: Transition Council

About the Transition Council

October 18, 2006

The Northwest Kansas Transition Council has as its mission interagency collaboration to assist families with young adults in transition from school to adult life. Our local council is composed of parents, school personnel, adult agency personnel, and civic group representatives.

The members of our council work together to assess available community resources, identify needed services, expand opportunities for students with disabilities, and provide transition information to students, parents, and schools.

If you would be interested in attending a Transition Council meeting or becoming involved in the council, please feel free to contact Marilyn Unger at the Northwest Kansas Educational Service Center, 703 W 2nd, Oakley, KS 67748
